Members of the European Parliament in MUL
Medical University of Lodz received a group of Members of the European Parliament, Industry, Research and Energy Committee members, who are working on the European Parliament Report evaluating Horizon 2020, The EU’s current research and innovation funding scheme, and are preparing recommendations for the future Framework Programme (2020-2026).
The group of visitors included:
- Barbara KUDRYCKA (EPP – European People’s Party/Christian Democrats/Poland)
- Soledad CABEZON RUIZ (S&D – Group of Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in The European Parliament /Spain)
- Lieve WIERINCK (ALDE –Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe/ Belgium)
- Marisa MATIAS (GUE – European United Left- Nordic Green Left, Portugal )
- Jakop DALUNDE (Group of The Greens / European Free Alliance, Sweden)
While compiling the Report the Group are visiting the major scientific and academic centers in Europe to collect suggestions and experience from Horizon 2020 beneficiaries. Widening Participation Policy (Teaming, Twinning, Era Chairs) and public-private partnership in science on the example of Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC) were the main subject matters of the meeting in Lodz. The consequent suggestions will be included in the Report.
The meeting was hosted by prof. Radzisław Kordek- Rector of the Medical University of Lodz, and prof. Lucyna Woźniak, Vice-Rector for Science and International Relations, Medical University of Lodz. Sylvie Bove, COE of EIT Health was a special guest at the first part of the meeting.
Lodz was one of the three destinations, along with Warsaw and Berlin, in the Group itinerary.
