The world’s best universities in 54 academic subjects have been revealed in Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS). Our University was highly ranked in two areas: clinical medicine (301-400) and public health (401-500). We have held last year’s position in clinical medicine and we were classified in the discipline of public health for the first time.

Shanghai Ranking Consultancy has been publishing GRAS since 2009, and the currently applied methodology was adopted in 2017. 54 academic subjects included in the ranking list were grouped into five areas: natural, medical, social and life sciences, as well as engineering. This year’s ranking included a total of over 1,800 out of 4,000 universities from 94 countries.

GRAS relies on selected and objective academic indices as well as the data from independent sources in order to evaluate and compare the universities’ performance in particular academic disciplines. The key criteria include: research results published, their citation impact, international cooperation and the number of significant scientific awards.
