For the first time in history, Rectors of Lodz University of Technology and Medical University of Lodz awarded the authors of the top join scientific publications in 2021. The official award ceremony took place on 6 May in the Rector’s Office of Lodz University of Technology. Prof. Radzisław Kordek, Rector of MUL and Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of LUT, presented two teams of researchers from both universities with the awards:  statuettes and financial awards of PLN 40, 000.

The candidate papers were evaluated by the panel of vice-rectors: Prof. Lucyna Woźniak PhD DSc, Prof. Łukasz Albrecht and Prof. Paweł Strumiłło. The Jury’s assessment was based on the journal point values and their five-year impact factors. The awards for the best paper went to ex aequo two research teams: the authors of the papers which were published in the prestigious International Journal of Molecular Sciences.
