Research.com, the academic research portal, published a list of top researchers in particular scientific fields in 2022. The ranking included a total of 166 880 researchers from the whole world. 19 Polish researchers were ranked in the list of leading scientists from the area of Medicine including three researchers from our university: Prof. Maciej Banach (ranked 4), Prof. Marek Kowalski (✞) (ranked 12), and Prof. Tadeusz Robak (ranked 14).
Prof. Banach high rank was determined by h-index at the level of 91 and citations value over 50. 000. In the general global ranking, prof. Banach has been classified as high: 5744 place.
The achievements of our researchers have also contributed to our high position in TOP Universities ranking: Medical University of Lodz was classified as the 2nd on the list of top Polish medical universities and as 401st in the general ranking.
Research.com rankings are based on the examination of the data from 166,880 scientists on Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph and the analysis of three bibliometric indices (the Hirsch index, with the threshold for approving a scholar to be considered set to 70 if most of their publications are in the field of Medicine, publications and citations values) regarding specific scientific disciplines. The ranking was based on the data on scientific contributions from 2014 to 2021.
