OUR RESEARCHERS DISTINGUISHED IN EUREKA! DGP WE DISCOVER POLISH INVENTIONS COMPETITION
The results of Eureka! DGP We discover Polish Inventions competition were announced on 27 June 2023, at the registered office of Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. 20 out of 80 submitted Polish inventions were nominated and Functional Food for Future (FF4F) designed by the researchers of the Medical University of Lodz under the supervision of Prof. Lucyna Woźniak was among the distinguished ones.
FF4F technology was submitted by MUL Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CIiTT), which coordinates the process of the solution implementation on the market. The Authors have already achieved some success, also internationally, as FF4F was also awarded at Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx) in Thailand.
Eureka! Competition was organised by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna in partnership with Polpharma and PKO Polish Bank under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Science.
FF4F: what is it:
Cold-pressed evening primrose oil is Polish export success and global demand for the drug/supplement has constantly been growing for several years now, which contributes to the increase in the plant cultivation. The innovation involves the management of evening primrose pomace left after cold pressing to obtain the extract of a specific content of active substance and high biological activity confirmed in scientific research. The extract is meant to be used in production of dietary supplements and medicinal products to support anti-cancer and anti-viral therapies. The extract can also be used in functional food production (FF4F) to provide therapeutic support in viral, neoplastic, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. It can be added in production of dairy, cereal or confectionery and fruit products. Production of natural cosmetics ( antioxidant, protective and anti-ageing properties) is yet another innovative application of fat-free seeds/extract.
