PROFESSOR PETER G. FEDOR-FREYBERGH DIED
With deep sorrow and regret we inform you that
Prof. Peter G. Fedor-Freybergh, MD, PhD, Dr.h.c. mult.
an outstanding Slovak psychoneuroendocrynologist, professor of psychology and prenatal and perinatal medicine,
obstetrics and gynaecology specialist.

died on 6 October 2021
Throughout his whole life, Professor Fedor-Freybergh was associated with Bratislava and the local University as well as with research institutions in Sweden, Finland, Italy and the Czech Republic. At his last workplace he was employed as the Head of the Chair of Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Social Sciences of St. Elisabeth University in Bratislava. Apart from the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the Medical University of Lodz, he also received many doctorates of honour awarded by other Universities. He collaborated with endocrinologists and obstetricians a tour University for dozens of years. He was the initiator and the editor-in-chief of numerous scientific medical journals, with the most prominent one being Neuroendocrinology Letters. He was the founder and the president of many international scientific societies in psychiatry, psychology, prenatal and perinatal medicine. He was an honorary member of J. E. Purkyne Memorial Czech Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Polish Society of Neuroendocrinology, Polish Society of Gynaecology and the International Society of Prenatal and Perinatal Medicine (ISPPM), and last but not least, he was an eminent specialist and a man of great heart.
