RECRUITMENT TO INTERNATIONAL DOCTORAL SCHOOL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF LODZ: RECTOR’S LETTER
The Medical University of Lodz opens the recruitment to the International Doctoral School for academic year 2022/2023
The doctoral studies at International Doctoral School MUL:
- include 8 semesters and are completed with the submission of PhD dissertation;
- provides education in the field of medical sciences and health sciences in the following disciplines:
- pharmaceutical sciences,
- medical sciences,
- health sciences.
The information on the number of places in the organisational units at International Doctoral School for the year 2022/2023 is available in MUL electronic system (IRK) or on the website (Rector’s ordinance on the recruitment and limits for the International Doctoral School for the academic year 2022/2023 and the number of places available and the placement allocation in MUL teaching and research units: http://doctoralschool.mul.edu.pl/recruitment/
The recruitment procedure for The Doctoral School is based on the competition and its principles are defined in Resolution No 2/2022 of 27 January2022 of the Senate of the Medical University of Lodz on the rules and regulations of the recruitment to the International Doctoral School for the academic year 2022/2023 and is performed in accordance with the recruitment schedule announced in the Rector’s ordinance No 21/2022 of 9 March 2022 on the recruitment schedule to the International Doctoral School for the academic year 2022/2023
The candidate is obliged to observe the deadlines specified in the recruitment schedule.
A graduate of the relevant university major may apply for admission to the International Doctoral School if the candidate:
- holds a degree of Master of Arts or Master of Engineering or equivalent;
- obtained a consent of the future doctoral research supervisor to take care of a PhD dissertation;
- is fluent in English at a minimum of B2 level;
- is not student at any other doctoral school.
The candidate is obliged to register in the electronic system of the University (https://sd.mul.edu.pl/registration,92.html) and then submit to the recruitment committee, via the Office of Doctoral Studies, by the dates specified in the recruitment schedule, the following documents:
- the application for admission to the Doctoral School, generated in MULelectronic recruitment system, submitted to the Rector via the Head of the Doctoral School. The application must include: personal data, research project topic, a signature of the future doctoral research supervisor as a confirmed supervisor’s consent to supervise the candidate’s PhD dissertation,
- the candidates curriculum vitae including education, interests and scientific achievements enclosing scientific papers and conference presentations from the previous 5 years before applying for the Doctoral School:
- Original or a copy of the diploma of second-cycle or long-cycle MA studies or a certificate issued by the Dean’s Office confirming graduation from second-cycle or long-cycle MA studies and received Master of Arts or Master of Engineering or equivalent degree;
- Certificate of grade point average of first-, second- or long-cycle MA studies or oversees courses graduated and recognised as equivalent to first-, second- or long-cycle MA studies;
- A research proposal of up to three A4 pages in Polish or English, referred to in § 7 item 3, with the opinion of the future supervisor;
- documents certifying the knowledge of an additional modern foreign language (other than English) (if applicable)
- Proof of scientific achievements from the previous 5 years including their listing, in particular: copies of published scientific papers, conference presentations, diplomas of Students Scientific Societies or other scientific societies, Rector’s Awards for the best students and graduates or Minister’s Awards;
- Certificates of:
- participation in students exchange programmes,
- graduation from postgraduate studies (if applicable),
- a diploma or a certificate of graduation from other studies (if applicable),
- completed or ongoing specialisation course (if applicable),
- two current ID photos, (signed on the back);
- if the candidate has a certificate of disability or the degree of disability or the certificate referred to in Art. 5 and Art. 62 of the Act of 27 August 1997 on Vocational and Social Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, a copy of the certificate must be included.
The candidate with a diploma confirming completion of higher education abroad, which, according to the provisions of the Act for the Republic of Poland, is equivalent to relevant Polish education at second- or long-cycle MA studies or is recognised as such a diploma and professional title of Master of Arts or Master of Engineering or equivalent, are obliged to submit:
- a legalised or Apostilled diploma,
- a certificate of the nostrification procedure which determined the Polish equivalence of a foreign diploma and professional title (if required by the regulations)
All the documents in a foreign language other than English shall be submitted with their Polish or English translation.
Foreigners are allowed to sent the scanned documents required for the recruitment process with their translation on the following address: [email protected], by e-mail provided that these documents shall be delivered to the Recruitment Committee via the Office of Doctoral Studies no later than 4 days after the announcement of the list of candidates qualified for admission to the International Doctoral School. The date of e-mail sent with the attached scanned document shall be considered as the date of submission.
A full set of documents shall be submitted in a signed white cardboard file from 1 to 20 July 2022 after prior appointment at the Office of Doctoral Studies made by e-mail sent on the following address: [email protected], with the e-mail title including name and surname – recruitment to IDS – appointment booking. Documents submitted after the deadline shall not be considered in the recruitment to the International Doctoral School.
