Rector’s announcement on vaccination obligation
Ladies and Gentleman,
Dear Students,
With the advent of January 2022, Information Processing Centre published the data on COVID-19 vaccination coverage in students, PhD students and university employees. In our University, nearly 95% of the employees and PhD students, and 93% of our students have already been vaccinated. As I see it, however, the data are not satisfying. My wish is that everybody without health counterindications gets inoculated against COVID-19.
Let me remind you that, pursuant to the ordinance of December by the Minister of Health, professionally active medics and employees of medical entities occupying non-medical positions are obligated to undergo vaccination against COVID-19 by 1 March 2022. The obligation also applies to pharmacists and other employees of pharmacies and pharmacy outlets.
The vaccination obligation also includes the students at the faculties training them for medical professions: doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, midwives, laboratory diagnostician, physical therapists and paramedics.
Moreover, COVID-19 vaccination obligation is also binding for the people whose positive result of SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic test was obtained earlier than 6 months by 1 March 2022.
People who haven’t been vaccinated should undergo the vaccination according to the basic pattern (i.e. two doses of a two-dose vaccination or one dose of a one-dose vaccination) and receive EU Covid Certificate (UCC).
I would like to remind you that COVID-19 vaccination obligation applies to the people with no counterindications in terms of their health status. The counterindications to vaccination have been listed in the Summary of Product Characteristics of the vaccine.
Bearing in mind the above, please comply with COVID-19 vaccination obligation. Your compliance will be necessary for you to participate in the on-site classes.
Also, in order to ensure the safety of our patients, employees, PhD students and students, we urge all the other members of the academic society who have not been vaccinated yet to undergo the protective COVID-19 vaccination, while those who are already eligible to take a booster dose.
