SHORT DESCRIPTION OF RESEARCH ACTIVITY

The projects include the evaluation of the association of DNA repair XRCC3 C722T and RAD51 G135C gene polymorphisms and the risk of head and neck cancers.

Another research project involves research on inverted papillomas as a unique group of locally aggressive, benign tumors within the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.

The results of these studies suggest that the presence of -5 / G SNP in the MT2A gene can influence a gene expression specific for the allele, and an accumulation of toxic metals in the nasal pharynx and paranasal sinuses
